Need to ensure reception, identification and referral of ‘boat people’ urgent

BRUSSELS, 6 May 2010—In line with concerns recently expressed by the Vatican on the interception and push-backs of migrant boats in the Mediterranean, ICMC is set to begin a new project with Church and other NGO partners in Greece, Italy, Malta and Spain (including ACCEM and JRS Malta) that aims to ensure that asylum seekers, refugees and others within mixed migration flows who may be in need of special protection are properly identified and provided protection-sensitive support.Read more<
